I actually believe you and I are on some form of agreement on this.
First, what I need to clarify. Disregard my bad feelings toward OOP.
When I said I do not want to touch the source code directly, that is a
bit of an exaggeration. However, after the initial installation has
been completed, I do not want to open the .php files in a text editor
again.
Despite those sentiments, I do want a scalable application. Software is
pretty much useless if it isn't scalable (in my book, anyway). I'd like
to see how you make OOP abstract. Cl***** are inherently abstract, but
the actual objects are not. You can modify the source to change some of
the specifics, but it is harder to modify the specifics from the front
end. This is what I want to do. I am attempting to look as an
architect. Your suggestions are good; if you have further information
you could give me, I'd appreciate it. Obviously you have concluded what
I though I expressed at the beginning: I have little experience other
than the basic technical knowledge.
You won't see any more "adds" (sic).
