Migration from OES Netware (6.5SP6) to OES2 Linux with Pervasive.SQL

by Guy Dawson <gnues@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 13, 2008 at 05:34 PM

We currently run a Novell OES/Netware (NW 6.5SP6) server which hosts a
Pervasive.SQL database (P.SQL V9.5SP2).

We're looking to migrate to a Novell OES/Linux and wondered if anyone
has done this. We would continue to use P.SQL V9.5SP2.

For the new server I'm looking at the following set up

    volume 1 - standard Linux file systems (/, /usr /etc etc)
volume 2 - NSS for Pervasive data files and user data

The two volumes would be on seperate disks (SAN LUNs actually). We'd
use the current Novell Netware client on our Windows PCs to access
user data on volume 2 and the P.SQL client to access the pervasive
data both via SQL and transactionally.

Does this seem reasonable?

Are there any recomendations or gotcha's?

TIA!

Guy
