How did you create the Layout?
It sounds like you've got an A4 / US Letter sized layout that you have
put four copies of the fields onto (one set in each corner) - which
will of course give you four of the same postcards.
What you really need is to:
- Make an A4 / US Letter sized layout
(****trait or landscape, up to you)
- Change the Layout's Setup options to be two-columns
(across or down first is again up to you) and to have
margins appropriate to your printer (usually 0.5inches
is best)
- Delete the Header and Footer Parts and then stretch
the Body Part until it is full page height. Then make
the Body Part only half this height.
It's this last bit that can be tricky. Newer versions of FileMaker may
have a better way, but I usually end up putting a small square at the
bottom of the Body Part and then Previewing it and moving the bottom of
the Body Part up until I get two squares in Preview Mode.
You should be left with a smallish Body Part on the left of the Layout
with the right-hand side shaded. Put one copy of the name field(s) into
the white Body Part formatted however you want - if centering, remember
to only center in the white part, not the shaded part.
Find appropriate records, preview / print. Done. :o)
