On top of everything that already has been said I'm wondering why on earth

would you want to duplicate arecord AND all it related records? generally
I 
would say re-doing what you already have done over and over again sounds 
like a design flaw. Once data has been entered you shouldn't need to 
duplicate it. So I would look in greater detail into you current set up
and 
the wishes you have related to the duplicating of data, then look for an 
alternate solution.
