Thank you, Lynn. That explains it.
Before asking here, I looked in the FM (8.5A) help, searching for
"PDF" and reading the "Save Records as PDF script step" info many
times, in addition to trying every possible combination of related
settings.
That's what makes FM as much of a bear in some respects as it is a
sheer pleasure to use in other respects.
While this is only a sample project to explore, test, and learn FM's
capabilities, what would happen if there were consequences? What
would I say to a boss or a client waiting for a rapid solution?
How could the PDF problem be solved if a real-world solution was
needed? Get Adobe Acrobat or a third-party PDF generator? The extra
bulk, complexity, and licensing costs to include a PDF generator with
each FM runtime copy would be daunting. Is this a dead-end, or is
there a good way of doing this?
