You suck all the fun out of this forum.
Maybe you just need to get laid. Smile a little, you'll like it.

That was never in question since Janet left the building.
I think Janet left the building because IDS in the LUW (why I included
windows I don't know...) space is the best performer.
What was in question is when would the marketing/sales/higher ups grok
what they had and started to push it to the public.
The reason I griped about IBM wasn't the techies in the lab. (Including
Serge and the guys in Markham.) It was the fact that Databases were being
treated as a commodity and IDS was being shoved to the side as IBM flogged
DB2 to the m*****. Even in white papers publi****ng cute "hacks" by Martie
Laurie on an IDS project have to mention DB2...
You want to go head to head against Postgress and Oracle, IDS will crush
them in terms of performance and ease of use. (Not to mention TCO)
But the "wins" and "customer success stories" aren't coming from IBM, but
the Ron Flannery(s) and Bell Micro(s) of the world. (And I know Paul and
Stuart are going to slam me for not mentioning their companies.)
The extensability is an under appreciated and under used feature because
the sales teams don't understand it and the competition doesn't offer it.
So why hasn't IBM capitalized on this? Why don't they offer research
grants? Why haven't they cross pollinated their "boffins" in NY to take
advantage of it?
I know Jerry K can't be everywhere, but where is his sup****t from the
sales side? (This is why you have BDMs.)
But hey! What do I know? ;-)
