I don't know how you can do a good distance learning program.
I mean, you're sitting in front of your computer, and your phone rings.
Its=
either your wife and if you don't answer the phone, you're dead.
It could be a customer and you don't want to piss anyone off these days.
And yeah, the material is cut and dry.
I'm not sure which class you are attending, but my guess is that they
expec=
t that you understand the underlying concepts, or are at least familiar
wit=
h the terminology.=20

Suicidal - or what?

I have spent today going through an IBM Informix distance
learning course on IDS 11 as I was instructed onlt this morning that this
i=

pre-requisite for some IBM Informix IDS 11.5 training that I am doing on
Thursday. It left me feeling decidedly suicidal. I am sure there
must be better training material out there. I was particularly concerned
at the 0.5 hour module on Administration mode. And where did they get the
experts from? =20
If any of you are tempted to undergo this distance learning
course I suggest that you give yourself enough time to complete the course
=
at
one module a day for two weeks. No rational computer specialist can ever
subject themselves to such an exercise in boredom.
