SE could have had MySQL's market share if not for some very short-sighted
decision-makers. They decided they wanted today's dime instead of a
chance
for tomorrow's dollar. SE could have been a contenda.

Informix SE is still available, in general. There isn't much active
development of the product - but it is still available. If it is not
available on a particular platform that you need it on, you might have to
make a business case for us putting it where you need it. But it exists
and
is as stable a product as you could hope to come across.
