[Info-Ingres] E_DM930C_DM0P_PAGE_CHKSUM_FAIL

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Hi Everyone,

=20

I'm running II 2.6/0604 (int.lnx/00) + patch11814

=20

Intermittantly over the last month and a half , the installation has
been generating messages like:

E_DM930C_DM0P_PAGE_CHKSUM_FAIL Page Checksum failure detected.
Database live, Table consent2, Page 426931.

=20

Typically we get a small flurry and then the problem dissapears.

=20

Today it bit the productiuon database and doesn't seem to want to go
away.

=20

I can't modify the table (not even to heap), I cant copy the table out
(gotta sigsegv).

=20

I note that there is a mention of the problem on the Ingres tech
supp****t site saying it could be related to the Hardware disk
controller. But the Sysprog here thinks that's a little tenuous.

=20

Has anyone seen this and successfully dealt with it?

=20

I'm going to try recovering the database on an alternative host and see
if the problem persists there.

=20

Martin Bowes
