It should have been set by the installer. Is this 9.2.0 by any chance?
I've
just checked my 9.2.0 installation and it hasn't got ING_ABFDIR set
either.
You can do it manually by
1) creating a directory "abf" under %II_SYSTEM%\ingres
2) ingsetenv ING_ABFDIR %II_SYSTEM%\ingres\abf
