Use filter in for or query on large databases

by cf@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Apr 25, 2008 at 03:21 AM

Hi!

I use access as a front end for several databases (both access
database-seperated from the front end, sql, and iseries DB2).

I am about to start developing forms for useres to search for
different data. I read at Alan Brownes site that he does not recommend
using querys for filtering, but rather use the filter function in
access...

This is OK for smaller databases, but some of the files on the Iseries
is huge! (3GB++).

So does anyone have any idea for whats best regarding performance??

Many thanks.
