Take part in The BI Survey

by "Nigel Pendse" <nigelp@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 15, 2007 at 01:28 PM

The BI Survey is now well underway, and will be closing soon. It's the
world's largest independent survey of business intelligence users and
follows on from six years of The OLAP Surveys. This year, the aim is to
include a wider range of products, hence the change of name. If you
haven't already taken part, now is your chance to make sure your
experiences are included. Just click on www.eu-survey.com/BI/30

In addition to all the classic OLAP products (such as Applix TM1,
BusinessObjects, Cognos Analysis/PowerPlay, Essbase, Microsoft AS,
MicroStrategy, Oracle OLAP Option and Discoverer, and SAP BW), this year
we are also interested in hearing from users of products like Actuate,
Crystal Re****ts, Cognos Re****tNet/Re****t Studio, Hyperion Intelligence
(the former Brio), Information Builders WebFOCUS, Microsoft Re****ting
Services, Oracle BI Suite Enterprise Edition (the former Siebel
Analytics), QlikView, etc. We are also keen to include responses from
users of performance management products like Cartesis, Cognos Planning,
Hyperion FM and Planning, and OutlookSoft.

But everything else stays the same: The BI Survey is still (unlike most
other surveys) strictly independent. It is not sponsored by any vendors,
and they have no influence over the questions or the analyses. Again,
unlike most vendor-sponsored surveys, The BI Survey focuses mainly on
how products are used, rather than how they are bought -- surveys
sponsored by vendors’ marketing departments tend to be more interested
in how they can influence the purchase process than how successful
products are later.

Data capture is on-line, and takes about 15–20 minutes. It doesn’t
matter if you are an end-user or more technical, as the Survey includes
questions aimed at both. If you are a consultant who implements BI
products, you are also welcome to respond on behalf of a particular
customer. We also have a separate set of questions for vendors and
re-sellers.

As a participant, you will not only have the op****tunity to ensure your
experiences are included in the analyses, but you will also receive a
summary of the results from the full survey. You will also have a chance
of winning one of ten $50 Amazon vouchers. Only aggregate responses will
be re****ted.
