Position Description: At least 5-7 years Senior UNIX design and
implementation experience in an enterprise server environment.
Skills/Experience Required: â• a Advanced knowledge of Solaris 8, 9
and 10 operating systems. ï• o Design and implement Oracle databases
for mission-critical business applications. ï• o Monitor and tune
large database systems to meet the performance and availability
requirements of our customerâ?s on-line systems and applications.
ï• o Modify data base structures to sup****t application
enhancements. ï• o Develop data base backup/recovery procedures
while providing sup****t to business operational models, including off-hour
sup****t when needed. ï• o Model and forecast database and platform
resource utilization. ï• o Ability to work effectively with clients
and other data processing personnel. ï• o Ability to effectively
follow and interpret do***ented or verbal technical instructions. ï•
o Familiar with general Change Process/Policy. ï• o Ability to
evaluating alternatives and determine the best course of action in any
given troubleshooting
â• a Advanced Knowledge of Veritas products such Volume Manager,
File Systems and Veritas Clusters. â• a Design skills in systems
environments with the ability to implement large projects such as name
resolution infrastructure, security structure, monitoring and management
environments. â• a Ability to develop automation process using UNIX
Shell script. â• a Networking knowledge with the ability to diagnose
networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands basic
routing concepts. â• a Communication, administrative and analytical

Oracle servers for many AIGGS clients. ï• o Sup****t Oracle 9i and 10g
databases with upgrades, patches, tuning using Enterprise data center
procedures and processes. ï• o Perform requests, fixes, installs,
migrations, tuning, monitoring, and problem resolutions. ï• o
Experience in building Real Application Clusters and Data Guard solutions.
ï• o Must be able to deal with multiple clients, other departments,
and help manage offshore DB administrators. ï• o Knowledge of Unix,
Sun or Veritas Cluster, Windows, DNS, Firewalls and TCP networking.
ï• o Strong Solaris UNIX expertise required and Unix shell
scripting. ï• o Networking knowledge with the ability to diagnose
networking/systems related problems a plus
