Description: Thomas-Matthew Associates, based out of Newtown, PA is a
full service recruiting firm that specializes in providing individual
attention to our clients and candidates.
Client located in the Elkton, MD area is in need of an Oracle DBA with
JDEdwards experience. They are seeking a functional person the has the
ability to do some development if needed.
Position is a 6 month right to hire.
Responsibilities include:
Oracle database administration on a Unix platform, including
responsibility for installs, patches and upgrades.
Sup****t for an application development team developing an enterprise-level
web based application.
Sup****t of listeners, dispatchers, sqlnet, tnsnames and shared pool
configurations.
Sup****t of instance, schema and data migrations.
Performance tuning of database servers, oracle instances and application
programs.
Willingness to participate in Oracle PL/SQL application development
activities.
Unix scripting to sup****t administration functions.
Implementing and testing backup and recovery procedures.
Sup****t for Real Application Cluster.
Technical writing, including do***entation of architecture, processes and
standard operating procedures.
Qualified candidates will have:
BS Degree in computer related discipline
Experience with JD Edwards or major ERP system
Working knowledge of Cognos
Outstanding communication (written and verbal) skills.
5 + years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
Expertise with Oracle on a Unix platform. (Sun preferred)
Broad knowledge and understanding of Oracle Best Practices and practical
implementations.
Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
Experience with Oracle Backup and Recovery, archiving and disaster
recovery.
Experience with Real Application Cluster (RAC) desirable
