Bold font won't stick...?

Howdy,

I just tried to modify a font property of a cell in a table
on a form.

In design mode, I inspected, and went to properties, font. I
clicked on BOLD, and clicked Apply.

To my surprise the property instantly reverted to Normal.

The font is Ariel and its various properties seem to work
properly everywhere else on the form.

What might be causing this to happen?
