You don't want the Working directory to be pointing to the database or 
the forms and other code objects (which should be separate from the 
data). You want to use the -w switch on the command line to point it to 
some neutral location and use the form you start with to set your 
aliases at start up. I suggest you start by reading my database basics 
paper (and probably my Normalization one too) from our paradox resource 
page (link in my signature)
