Raining Data's Dream World

I contacted RD today to see if I could obtain a developer copy of D3.
I happen to have a project that will be a little easier if I could
have D3 running at my office.  The following is the quote I was given:

"A single user is priced at $499.00 per user with a Support
Maintenance Agreement for $99.00 with a $250.00 minimum."

What planet are they living on?  Every major, and not so major, MV and
Realational DB vendor has options for developers that are quite a bit
less than RD's offering.

They just don't get it.  And I doubt they ever will.
