Parallels - Virtual Machine

by "Peter McMurray" <excalibur21@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 15, 2008 at 03:15 AM

Virtual machines, alternate boots etc have been discussed occasionally. I
have just been blown away in a village quilt shop by an excited lady
showing
me her quilt program on an Apple Macbook. She along with many of her
quilting friends was running Parallels so she happily played her music on
XP
while she designed a quilt on a Windows program and happily clicked a
button
to write an email and a letter in Office Mac with the music still playing
and the quilt program still running.
I asked her "can you open a windows document in Mac" she says "I have
never
tried as I have always used Mac for Word processing". She had never seen
Explorer or Notepad on Windows so we did a quick little note in Notepad
and
saved it in My Documents then she clicked her favourite Mac program and
there was the note. Wow!! No rebooting just genuine parallel running.
I shot home and looked up www.parallels.com forget the rest this is
virtualisation heaven practically anything mixed with anything else, Web
servers, Windows Server, Vista & Xp and all those Unix look alikes Red
Hat,
Ubuntu etc. D3, QM etc on a Mac No Problem with $80 of Parallels plus the

op system of your choice.
This came on top of finding the most imaginative site ever programmed
www.jkrowling.com try the biography for successful animation.
Enjoy
