I only had a quick glance at the Parallels website but, like vmWare,
they have several products for different types of virtualization
(running on an OS, running on hardware, etc)).  The statement you made
above is too broad for it to have meaning unless you specify specific
products.

Regardless, I would just try them both and see which one suits you
best.  If you're going to be looking at virtualization products, you
might as well check out Xen as well, now owned by Citrix
