I forgot to mention that I have looked at this product in the past
(2005).  At that time I had an e-mail exchange with the developer
asking if the file mirroring worked via deltas, or was the entire file
copied over each time it changed.

Unfortunately, the entire file is copied each time there is a change.
I would think that would be a problem for a very active file system
such as D3, especially if you had many large, active files.
