You need some personal experience beyond SCO unix. If you want
something as reliable as a 3 legged donkey, the D3/NT FSI will do nicely.

As one other poster mentioned, I've never had to "roll my own", and I
don't intend to any more than I would roll my own windows. I'm running
linux on a brand new desktop with built in drivers for hardware that XP
couldn't handle, and I've heard enough about problems with drivers and
Vista.
