I am having some issues with my business accounting program. I found
this site searcing for info on "file4readlow" error messages. If I'm
in the wrong house please forgive me and send me in the correct
direction for help. If someone can offers assisetence or opinions I
would appreciate it. I'll will try and be brief.
My computer is a new Emachine running Windows2000 Pro at a speed of 2.2
GHz with 1meg of dual channel ram and over 150+ meg of hard drive space
available. I am current with all WIndows updates including service pack
four as of today, 12/22/05
My questions are:
1: can the largest executable file size be increased from what I have
now, 577K to 590K? This is what I am told I need to run my business
accounting software. (see "The Story" at bottom of this post)
2:If the largest ex. file can be expanded, how does one go about it?
3: "file4readlow" error shows in one modual of my buisness accounting
package.
Is there a "general" reason this type of error would occur?
The story:
After upgrading to ver.10.0 from 6.5a(serveral years in between
versions) and reinstalling my company accounting data I get a
"file4readlow" error in one modual of the software. That was two weeks
ago. The software company continues to tell me it's a resourse
problem. So, I buy more ram to get 1gig. I still get the error .
Software sup****t says my box runs to slow. So, I buy the box mentioned
above. Still get the error. The software company says I need to expand
the largest ex. file from 577K to 590K ,theyt tell me get with the
maufacturer. So, I call Gateways pay to play sup****t and the Gateway
rep basicly goes "huh??" I can find no one who can answer the
question(question #1) I have a pretty well known accounting program
(Headquarters in Idaho) contiuing to tell me my problem is resourses. I
need some other opinions.
I am not a computer whiz, but I do know a lot of basic stuff and try
and do all the general IT stuff for my 4 box network.
Ideas and opinions(helpfull ones) welcome and appriciated.
Joe
