Re: file4readlow & available memory

Geofff, Thanks for taking the time to respond.

It would appear that I am in the wrong group. I got here by doing a
Goggle search or
"file4readlow". I am looking to better understand my problem
(file4readlow and expanding the largest executable file.) as the
accounting software sup****t team(Cougar Mountain Software) I feel is
not giving me the info I need. The more I know the safer I feel. In
any casef, at the top of my post I state I running Windows2000Pro, I
assumed all WIndows products were DOS based, if not, my bad. I believe
my Windows2000Pro is DOS based but maybe not. (note, my first computer
was a K-Pro some 20+ years ago)

My 'file4readlow" error shows in one mod of my accounting software. The
error gives me the Mod the error is in and the file(s) the error is
in. Both files have had a couple of different file fix programs run on
then and then been re-inserted into the data bank, only to have the
same error reappear. I am of the belief this file is corrupted but the
software sup****t people keep insisting that it is a resourse issue
since they took all my data to their shop and ran it on their computer
and did not get the error message.
Today I going to ask them to do that again to confirm their earlier
conculsion.

I don't understand your question "how big is the partic file", is that
the file(s) in questions size? if so they are .DBF(the file
extension) 4,542kb and .MDX 9612kb
note: the .MDX file grew from 4760kb to current 9612kb after the fix
file was run on it.
If the above is not the info you seek, please adivse and I will try and
forward it.

re: ScanDisk., I think that is a DOS only program, I remember from it
my DOS days. In WIndows2000Pro I do not see Scan Disk but I have run
Disk Clean and DeFrag. Also, the box is virus and spyware free.

Geoff, thanks for taking the time to discuss this with me. It's sites
like this and people like you who make this internet thing truly
valualbe and enjoyable.

Merry Christmas and God Save The Queen.
