Actually, for speed of development binding to the data is fastest.  And 
if you know your going to use SQL Server later, use parameterized views 
for your data access now, and when you move the SQL you just exhange the 
local views for remote views (as a matter of fact, the upsizing wizard 
will move the data and recreate the views for you as well.)
