You're mixing "modes" and that'll just cause you grief.
here's what's happening:
it calls splash
splash calls mainmenu
mainmenu goes out of scope becuase splash disappears
you are at "read events" waiting.....
mainmenu needs to be re-written in vfp "as a top level form"
(spr's are forms, just compiled into "prg" like format)
