VFP 9: Sending E-mail Through Outlook 97

I am adding the feature of sending E-mails from my client billing
app.  Very simple stuff.  Well, I thought so.  I have run into some
weird problems:

  1) Outlook 97 complains if the E-mail address is not simply the
address, as in
          someone@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 I include the usual, as in
          Joe Someone <someone@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
>
Outlook 97 complains "No Trans****t Provider Was Available for Delivery
to This Recipient".

  2) The E-mails do make it to my ISP, but Outlook 97 will not pick
them up.  It does not give an error either.

     I do have "Microsoft Office Automation with Visual FoxPro", but
it does not have much detail.

     Yes, I know that this is an old version.  I just want the basics
running so I can check my program.  The trouble I am having with this
makes me very happy that my usual E-mail program is Eudora.
