Well, not 100% sure why this would make a difference, but using this
line in pg_hba.conf got things working as I hoped:
host all all 192.168.0.0/16 ldap "ldap://192.168.0.95/
dc=domainname,dc=company,dc=com;DOMAINNAME\"
