Hello:
=20
This is a newbie question as I have not used the product before. After
inst=
allation of PG 8.2 I noticed that I have 2 servers: postgresql database
ser=
ver 8.2 (localhost:5432) and another one differing only in the name (the
se=
cond one is 8.3). The problem is that I did not request the 8.3 during
inst=
allation. Based in the instructions I downloaded from the internet
(admitte=
dly the instructions applied to PG 8.0) I should have only had one server
a=
fter the install. In addition, the PG 8.2 has a username of postgrestest
(I=
did not do this during installation) and I cannot logon to the server
beca=
use I do not know the password (I did not set one up). Also the
do***entat=
ion I am reading provides instructions for setting up Users (it has a User
=
node under the server in the do***entation) but the PG 8.3 has what it
call=
s "Login Roles(1)".
=20
Again since I am new to the product I am not familiar with it. How can I
se=
t up users and is there do***entation out there that accurately descibes
th=
e PG 8.3 version installation process? Is it usual that you get two
servers=
on installation or did I do something wrong? Any help you can provide
will=
be appreciated. Thank you.
